Hello monday

Jan 20, 2014

(Bracelet: Stella & Dot, similar / Blouse: XO Veronika, find it here!)

So lovely to be back after a relaxing and refreshing weekend. This weekend, we decided to opt out of doing any outfit photos. We're attempting to use our weekends to rest and catch up on other life bits instead. Martin spent a part of the weekend marking assignments (he's a teacher), plus he's working on his masters. So, that's keeping him plenty busy. I spent the weekend puttering around our condo packaging shop orders, making jewelry, cuddling the fur fam and planning a fun giveaway for later this week (hint hint, it's for my shop)!!

Lately, I'm craving more time away from the computer too. Amazing how much time we can spend on here, hey?! My "computer free" plans include baking gluten free muffins (mmmm!), getting out for a mid-week hike with the dog, as well as wine + lots of bubble baths. We have a huge soaker tub and honestly it's the best thing ever! It's definitley my goal to take better care of myself and take time to unwind. I hope to stay more mindful, focused and on task with the things that bring me true joy & meaning. I'm excited to make these changes for myself!

I'm also trying, oh so much, to be less type A with the blog (as I mentioned in my 2014 goals). I'm working on finding a more lighthearted approach and reminding myself to have more fun with it. Yes, I love posting my daily outfits, but some weeks I'm busy and might only have time to post a recipe and do a quick "life lately" post. And. That is. Okay!! I'm not sure why I get so rigid and convince myself otherwise. Talk about kill joy. How do you guys keep your blog/life in balance? Spill please!

PS - I can't help but say I'm so overjoyed by your amazing support of the shop. It's keeping me mighty busy and I couldn't be more thrilled & thankful. Thank you!

9 sweet notes:

  1. I need to try what your trying to achieve - I really, really want my 2014 to be less stressful and more focused...it's hard though! And I'll be watching closely for your upcoming giveaway...

  3. I definitely hear you about needing to be less type A with the blog, V - I'm working on finding that balance, too. It's not always easy, and I honestly can't imagine opting out of outfit photos for an entire weekend, but who knows, maybe one day. So glad your shop is doing well, I have my eye on the Hansel from Basel colourblock tote, but I'm also trying to be responsible with my spending... I'm sure it's going to make it's way into my cart soon, though!

  4. I love this post. I think we all struggle with wanting our blog to be better/have more time to post but it's definitely important to remember how to balance things. There are times when it stops becoming fun for me and I have to take a step back and remember why I started in the first place. With that being said, I absolutely adore your blog!! I am so happy that your store is open and love everything in it! Happy Monday :)

  6. Oh my gosh, Veronika...I took most of this past weekend off from blog related stuff, and now I feel like I have sooo much catching up to do!! It's very important to me to leave comments on all the blogs I follow (and to reply to comments on MY blog!) but often there just don't seem to be enough hours in the day...or week!! Especially since I also have a full-time job!! But we all have to remember that we are basically in the same boat; and sometimes "real life" just needs/gets priority!!

  7. Hey, nice to know I'm not the only one who slacked on the outfit posts this weekend! Time away from the blog can be a good thing. Love the sound of what you have planned!

  8. I've been wanting to take some time away from the computer too lately, but Shane is always working in his office and I just end up finding myself bored and tired after work and back on the computer again ahah! I really need to try and find something to distract me from it.
I'm loving the shop too! The products look amazing. I'm so excited for you haha! :)

    Have a lovely week, Veronika!
