Weekly Wrap Up

Aug 29, 2014

Hello friends! Aside from my leg & arm issues... the past couple of weeks have been really great. I've been busy designing blog templates for clients, consulting (more on that soon) and working with beautiful mamas on newborn photos. I'm feeling blessed and affirmed... when we knock the universe really does answer! I've hinted at the fact we've had a stressful summer. Yup, we have! Martin has been off work for the past three months (teacher strikes) and losing his income hasn't been easy. But thank god, we've been able to make it work and for that I'm eternally grateful!

Photos from our week: 1) Working on new blog templates. Yay! I hope to have them listed next week! 2) Are you sick of seeing Sunshine on instagram yet?! I'm thinking no... that girl gets more likes than I'll ever get. Hehe! 3) Working on a blog post about my everyday make-up. Watch out for that in September 4) Hair, hair. I want to dye it. But am beyond stumped on which colour to do!

Favourites from around the web:

♥ Discovered this beautiful blog a few months back and I'm so in love.
Tieka rocked these flats a few weeks ago. Oh my gosh, need them!
♥ Beautiful words to live by - love reading quotes like this to start my day.
♥ This antique window headboard is beyond lovely.. can't wait to add something similar to our room.
♥ My new maxi dress crush for fall! Just add slouchy cardigan & booties. Am I right?!

Inspired by: Colour! I know everyone is into all things white at the moment, but I'm loving colour! Colour in our home, my graphic design and my photography.

On the horizon: Branding my site + social media a little more cohesively, and of course, awaiting my new blog template! Painting our bedroom a slate grey in the fall. Plus, I'm excited to get back into the swing of things with home group via Village Church!

17 sweet notes:

  1. I'm so sorry you are still having trouble with your arm and leg. Have you been able to learn any more about it? I've been thinking about you and will continue to send positive vibes your way.

  2. Hello, lovey! Thank you so much for the good vibes. Honestly, they are helping, because I keep getting better & better. Yay! As for the cause of my arm & leg issues? It looks like it's soft tissue damage from working too many long hours. Ooops! But it's definitley fixable and I'm making lots of changes to make sure I heal up. Happiest Friday to you!! xoxo

  3. Eeek that's super stressful with the job loss, but I'm glad to hear that you two are making it work! And so much good stuff in this post! I'm super excited to see how your branding will go- your blogs are one of the most prettiest I read, and I constantly get inspiration on how you design things (both site and posts). And oi, why did you share that dress with me?! Now I'm lusting hard.

  4. Do you also install the blog templates for the purchaser? I am looking to spruce up my blog but I honestly don't know how much brain power it takes to install a pre-made template.

  6. Sunshine is the sweetest name!!

I hope your arm & leg are feeling better soon, and I feel a sense of stranger pride towards you and your Mr for getting through the strike, I can imagine how stressful it must be. My stepdad may be made redundant next week, so I think career problems are the downfall of 2014! Ah well, new doors shall open :)

And your hair is beautiful as it is! xxx

  9. I am with you on the hair thing, V! Maybe we can give each other some inspiraton over the weekend. I admit I have one idea but it's pretty extreme and when you've had hair issues, it's so hard to know whether to go for it. I know you get where I'm coming from ;) Personally, I love your ombre and vote you keep it forever, but that's just me. So excited for our barbecue this weekend, whatever the weather may turn out to be, but if it's pouring, I'll definitely text and we can make arrangements to meet at the bus stop before heading out :) The countdown is on

  11. Oh, I think you would be gorgeous with a blond-er color. Or a darker color. Haha! Not much help from me! I have been thinking about changing my hair color, too, and I can't decide between lighter, darker, or going for an ombre with red or pink on the ends.
I can't wait to see your daily makeup routine! You always look so polished and beautiful! Have a good weekend!

  15. Have you tried red hair before, dearest Veronika?! It's kinda high maintenance (I was a redhead for about four years, so I know what I'm talking about!) but I think some warm auburn tones would be so pretty on you...especially with fall coming up!! And often the best opportunities can come out of stressful times; you and Martin have wonderful things in store...I just know it!! P.S. Please give Sunshine and Scout a kiss from me!! :D
