OUR ANNUAL OCEAN-SIDE PICNIC

Aug 14, 2013

finally, finally... our summer is starting to unwind and martin & i are finding a nice little groove for ourselves. because honestly, this summer has been a little nuts. we've been working seven days a week (most weeks) and sometimes well into the wee-hours. 12 hour work days? yikes. in celebration of this week's slowing schedule we've been treating ourselves to some good summer livin': picnics, afternoons at our local pub... and, i even made a trip to the hair salon for a little chop, chop. i went a lot shorter. yay! i'll be sure to share photos with you early next week.
heading out for a picnic to this sweet little spot has turned into such a fun + annual tradition for us. talk about ultimate relaxation too. we had such an awesome time sprawling out on our blanket, eating the most delicious salad, and staring up at the trees. i also caught up on a little reading. i just picked up a new book called "roadie: my life on the road with coldplay." a really fun and light read. martin snacked on some blackberries - our neighborhood is surrounded with them. and scout? well, he slept and mooched food of us. apparently, he digs salad! ;)
outfit details:
denim jacket - h&m (similar + a great price!)
tee - gap
maxi (worn as skirt) -  old navy

  3. Those twelve hour work days sound seriously familiar - not for me, I've been living a charmed Parisian life while Ian put in 12-14 hours Monday to Friday from January to July. It is not a fun schedule! So glad to hear you guys a taking a bit of time out to relax and recharge, you've certainly earned it. And what a cute picnic spot, it looks so peaceful and inviting. I couldn't help but laugh out loud when I read that Scout liked the salad - what a character! Happy Wednesday, lovely :)

  11. Such beautiful photos! And how funny that Scout likes salad, I bet it's only because you guys were having it. Our dog used to love bananas, it was the only way to give him medicine - hide it in a banana. ;)

  15. oh hai happy picnicers!!! what a wonderful love bubble you created here. so glad to see you two soaking in time outdoors together, 'specially after all that heavy workload busting up your groove, it's good to see you back in the sublime stride of peaceful breaks.

i giggled at the part about Scout having a penchant for greens, he's also a little head over paws for tofu, as witnessed the last time you guys came over. he's a super healthy eater i gotta say, taking lessons from your pooch today :) can't wait to see your new do lovie, bet it's been a welcome change and looks stunning on you too!

    happy Sunday swells all! xo
