Closet Essentials: The Romper

I love the easy & chic style of a quality romper. The one I've featured here is from Madewell and I can imagine it transitioning so seamlessly in one's closet. Wear it out for drinks with a great blazer, or with converse & a ball cap for a day of grocery shopping. These days, my style has been incredibly easy and basic. Loose knit cardigans paired with simple neutral hued sundresses, leather tote bags and easy t-strap flats. I hope to be back with an outfit post soon. Perhaps I can twist my honey's arm for some outfit photos later today! ;)

And yay, throwing confetti in the air, cause tomorrow is Canada Day. We're having our friends over for a yummy barbeque: hot dogs, potato salad, spinach salad and corn on the cob. I'm making this one and I'm all kinds of excited. Then we're heading down to the pier to take in all the festivities and celebrations. I'll be sure to snap a few photos of our day!! Happiest Canada Day, friends! xo

look one: white blazer, romper, bag, flats

  5. After many years of being on the fence, I've finally gotten on board with rompers and now... now I can't get enough! This printed one from Madewell is just too cute and I love the idea of pairing it with leather Chuck Taylor hightops - well-styled, V :) Wishing you and Martin the happiest of Canada Days!

  6. I love that romper. It does seem effortless, oddly enough I do not own any rompers even though the concept does seem a bit genius to me.

  8. I LOVE rompers. I have a denim one that I bought about 5 years ago and wore constantly until I got pregnant. I think it's time to pull it back out. This Madwell one is gorgeous too. Love your suggestions for styling it!

  12. This romper is gorgeous, and I bet you would rock it!! In fact, I hope you got it at 30% off sale during the sale promo at Madewell this weekend! ;) It's interesting to see your post-clearout closet reinvention unfold here. Would you consider doing a post on the 18 pieces you kept? I'm just curious - and hope that gorgeous long Madewell cardigan is one of the things you kept, haha!

  13. I love the ways you styled it! I want to go and recreate each of these styles now, I'd feel at home in all three of them. Lovely romper too!

  14. Love the madewell romper and how you have styled it in all three outfits, laid back in a very good sytlish sense! :) I like rompers because they bring that summer "just throw a dress on" option but I believe can be even comfier, not having to worry if the hem is maybe too short ;)
