hello september

Sep 2, 2013

So, wow, it's September 3rd. Summer is flying by unbearably fast! Martin's back at work today (he's a teacher) but man oh man, did we ever have the most glorious week off. I think we went out almost every night: drove into the city, sampled new restaurants and finally checked out the Fairmont Pacific Rim + sat down for cocktails. We also visited with Gaby & her husband from This Little Port and I got to meet her daughter Clementine. Talk about baby fever, she's so precious!

While in the city, Martin & I had a moment and entertained moving back. I don't know, we're thinking about it. But honestly, I think we'd miss our vast green space, forested trails and ocean wayyyy too much. We'll see. If we do it, then we'd keep our current condo and just rent something for a year or two. Just cause, you know, sometimes it's fun to mix things up a bit.

This week there's also the promise of exercise. I've commit myself to: two runs, one yoga class, and one trip to the gym. Pray for me! Because usually my gym plans fall flat and I somehow end up watching another Netflix marathon and stuffing my face with cookies. It's bad, and I need to stop! At least they are vegan & gluten free. That must count for something, right?!... Haha, probably no.

17 sweet notes:

  1. Oh V, these pictures are so lovely but it was the paragraph about your exercise routine that really made me smile - I can so sympathise! I'm great at getting the exercise done, and then thinking, Well, since I just worked out for an hour, I can totally justify that (non-vegan and/or gluten-free) croissant! Here's hoping we can both kick some of our bad habits this season! See you soon!

  4. Good luck with the gym routine you're planning! I've had to put my membership on hold because I've been so busy with the play I'm putting up, so I feel your pain. I MISS yoga classes and swimming and running on the cross-trainer so bad! :(

Lovely pictures, by the way - and what an adorable baby girl! :)

  7. I understand your desire to move to the city. I'm hoping to move to Seattle with my husband this month! It's a nice change from a small town but your heart always does stay with the forest and ocean.

All the best with your workouts! I just started running and was lazy until I signed up for a 5k. Find a fun one in your area and enjoy the reward of your work.

I actually met up with a fellow blogger for the race in Vancouver at UBC. Do sign up for one! The colour run is in October. My run was some of the best fun I've had in a long time. :)
