Oops, sorry guys, I didn't intend for such a long blog break there. But truth be told, taking the last two weeks off has been absolutely magical. Granted, I'm terribly behind, and I have yet to announce my fabulous banner ad giveaway winners... soon, soon, I promise. I'm actually currently in bed with a wretched flu and living off of soup and never ending cups of tea. Sigh!
Aside from said flu, I have high hopes for 2014. It feels like there's unanimous excitement for a new year and fresh start. Am I right? I'm looking forward to a year of greater clarity, and I'm feeling a strong pull towards a more simplified life. Hopefully, I'll be able to share more of my personal journey here on the blog. I always intend to, but then I get distracted and out of sync with my goals.
On that note, here goes...
Blogging: I'd like to blog a little less in January, and when I do, I'd like it to be more organic and of the moment. I'm hoping to get back to posting our little adventures, recipes, personal updates, and of course, fashion, always fashion! ;)
Time: I hope to spend my time more consciously this year. I'm usually knee deep in projects, the blog, work, and I make little time for my hubby, friends and family. It's terrible and I really don't like this about myself. So yeah, life balance, it's something I really need to learn.
Exercise: Run twice a week + go to the gym once a week. Totally doable! Again, I just need to learn to prioritize my time better.
Appreciating: Buy less and appreciate what I have. Wow, sometimes I can get so wrapped up by consumerism that I totally forget to enjoy all the things I'm blessed with. Shame on me!
Family: We've been trying, not always with the greatest success, but we are hopeful that this is the year we'll get pregnant. It's my goal to take better care of my health in order to increase our chances of a healthy pregnancy.
Home: Spend more time on home DIY projects, entertaining friends, and spend time in the great outdoors. We're surrounded by the most amazing trails and I'd like to make more time for that.
What about you? Any goals you're excited for?!...

Happy New Year, V! I totally agree, I always feel positive and ready to take on the world at the beginning of the year. I have a routine that mostly works for me, which I'm lucky to have - it didn't come without work, of course, and every year is another year that I have to be accountable to maintain it, so that's a big one for me. And less shopping, more appreciating. Always. But it's so much harder than it sounds! Wishing you and Martin all the best this year and always :)

Happy New Year, Veronika!! Glad you enjoyed your time off...but sorry to hear that you're battling the flu now!! :( Hopefully a little more R and R will have you "right as rain" very soon!! And all my best wishes for the accomplishment of your goals this year!! Sometimes blog breaks are completely necessary :) Good for you for choosing to post less in 2014! Intentional posts are always better than the alternative. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThese are all great goals! Truth be told, my life has been so turned around with the new baby that I've decided not to make an goals for 2014 and to go with the flow for a while until I get the hang of motherhood. Not easy for a type A personality! I am also going to send lots of good vibes for getting pregnant. :) It took us a while too, but it eventually happened and it will for you as well! xo
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks for the pregnancy well wishes Melissa! Really appreciated!! And going with the flow sounds smart. I'm sure you'll settle into a nice routine with your precious one soon. And did I mention how heart meltingly beautiful she is?! Aw man, you guys must be crazy in love!!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteYay, glad I could help! Keep me posted on your fitness progress. I can't wait to start running again... I'm determined to stick with it this year!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I really appreciate your sweet words of encouragement!! The ups & downs are frustrating but we're trying to keep our faith and stay positive! :) Wishing you all the best for your 2014... it's going to be such an amazing year for you!! xoxo

Aw, thanks Carlee. We're super excited too!! And all the best to you in 2014!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Veronika! Hopefully you feel better soon! The flu is no fun. I love your goals! They're completely relatable, especially the one about time. I must admit that although Shane and I always spend time together, its never proper quality time, so I'd love to improve on that. Hopefully this year is going to be great for you - and that's super exciting about trying to start a family! :)
ReplyDeleteFrom one sick-y to another...I wish you good health soon! I'm currently hibernating trying to fight off a flu/cold as well. Not fun. Your goals sound very similar to mine! Currently, I've been looking at exercise classes at our community centre with the hopes of exercising more frequently!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! Love your blog! Would you like to follow each other on GFC, facebook and bloglovin to stay in touch? Let me know, thanks!
